Create an Account and Open the Dashboard
Open the account page below and enter a username and password for your login. RefVPN doesn’t require an email address; you can create an account with just a username and password. Choose a username you’ll remember, and don’t reuse a password from another site. Submit the form and follow the prompts to open the dashboard. If the username is unavailable, try a different one rather than resubmitting the same details.
Once you’re in the dashboard, make sure you’re signed in to the account you intend to use before choosing a plan. Save your username and password in a trusted password manager instead of relying only on your browser’s saved login. You’ll need this account to retrieve your subscription and view orders if you switch computers or reinstall the client.
If you already have an account, use the login page instead of creating another one. If your existing order isn’t visible after you sign in, check that you entered the right username. Creating a second account won’t transfer the plan or data from your original account. You’ve completed this step when you can open Account Overview and the plans section in the dashboard—not when you’ve connected to a server.
Choose a Plan and Review Data and Order Details
In the plans section of the dashboard, first choose between a monthly subscription and a data package. Monthly subscriptions suit ongoing use, with data resetting monthly on the activation date. Data packages are consumed as you use them and never expire. Compare the data allowance and billing terms, not just the price. Video streaming, file downloads, and everyday messaging use different amounts of data, so choose based on how you plan to use the service.
Monthly subscriptions: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packages: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, or ¥658 for 3000GB. To compare the options side by side, read the plan pricing page, then return to the dashboard to complete your order. When you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days; an upgrade does not restart the full billing period.
After choosing a plan, review the plan, price, and data allowance shown in the order, then pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. When payment is complete, return to the dashboard and check the order and plan status. If the page still says it’s processing, refresh the status first; don’t pay again just because it hasn’t updated yet. Keep your order details in case you need to include them in a support ticket.
RefVPN supports unlimited devices and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Once your plan is active, continue to the next step to get your subscription. If the order is complete but your plan isn’t showing, check that you’re signed in to the account linked to the order, then contact support through dashboard tickets. See the Terms of Service for the full refund terms.
Get Your Subscription from Account Overview
Once your plan is active, open Account Overview in the dashboard and find the subscription or client import section. The subscription link lets your client retrieve the server configuration available to your account. It isn’t a regular web address or an installation file. Check that your plan is active before using the import or copy option in this section.
If the dashboard offers an import option for your installed client, use it first. Your browser may ask whether to open an external app; check that it’s the client you intend to use before allowing this. If the client doesn’t open automatically, don’t keep clicking. Check the client for a newly added configuration. If it isn’t there, copy the subscription link and import it manually.
When copying manually, make sure you get the complete link, not just the visible portion. Paste it directly into the client’s subscription URL field—not a search box—and don’t add any explanatory text before or after it. This guide doesn’t provide a subscription link; get your own from the dashboard. Don’t use a link from a screenshot, someone else’s message, or another website.
Keep your subscription link as secure as your login details. Don’t post it in public forums or include the full link in screenshots when asking for help. If import fails, report the client name, error message, and where the error occurred. Hide the subscription details in any screenshots. You’ve completed this step when you’ve found the dashboard’s import option or copied your full subscription link. Next, configure the client.
Import the Client Setup for Your Device
Download the RefVPN client for your device from the client downloads section in the dashboard. After signing in, you can download clients for Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux without purchasing a plan. An active plan is required to get a usable subscription. On iOS, the available download option depends on your active plan status; follow the instructions in the dashboard. Installing the client and importing your subscription are separate steps—check that both are complete.
Windows: Import and Check the Configuration
In the dashboard’s downloads section, choose the RefVPN client for your Windows device, install it as prompted, and open it. Use the compatible subscription client provided in the dashboard; you don’t need to look for additional plugins. Return to the subscription section and try the import option. If your browser doesn’t open the client, look for “Subscription,” “Configuration,” or an option to add a URL in the client. Paste the full link you copied and save it.
When the configuration has finished loading, open the server list and check that server names and locations appear. If the client supports multiple configurations, make the one you just imported the active configuration. If a configuration name appears but no servers load, check for a subscription update prompt before changing your system network settings. Verify that the servers are listed before moving on to the connection check.
macOS: Check the Configuration and Network Permissions
In the dashboard, choose the RefVPN client for your Mac, follow the installation instructions, and open it. If macOS asks you to confirm on first launch, verify that the file came from the dashboard before proceeding through the standard prompts. Don’t disable system security to launch the app. Once the client is open, import from the dashboard or add the subscription URL in the subscription or configuration management section.
Save the URL and refresh the configuration, then check that the server list has loaded. On macOS, the app window and menu bar may have different functions: configuration management is usually in the main window, while connection status may appear in the menu bar. Select the configuration you just added, then connect and allow network configuration access. Read any system permission prompts; a permission request doesn’t mean your subscription has expired.
Android: Refresh Your Subscription and Choose a Server
Get the Android RefVPN client from the dashboard. After installing and opening it, return to the dashboard and try the matching import option. If your browser doesn’t complete the handoff, look in the client’s configuration list for an option to add a subscription or import from a link. Paste the full subscription URL, save it, and refresh. Menu names vary by client; choose a network subscription, not a local file import.
Once the server list appears, choose the server you want to use. On the first connection, Android will usually ask you to authorize the network connection; confirm the app and allow it. If the connection stops when you switch apps or lock your screen, check whether your system is restricting the client’s background activity and adjust the device settings as needed. Start with the default settings and change background permissions only if you run into this issue.
iOS: Get and Import the Client from the Dashboard
On your iPhone or iPad, sign in to the dashboard and open the client downloads section. Follow the iOS download option shown for your active plan. Use the client and compatible import method provided in the dashboard; don’t assume iOS works the same way as other platforms. Once the client is ready, return to the subscription section and use the matching import option. If prompted to open an app, check that it’s the right one before proceeding.
If the subscription isn’t imported automatically, look in the client for an option to add a subscription or configuration, paste the link, and refresh. Once the server list loads, select a server and connect. If iOS asks to add a VPN configuration, follow the prompt and complete device authentication. Then check the connection status in the client and verify by loading the service you want to use, rather than relying only on the system status icon.
Regardless of platform, the expected result is the same: the client has your current subscription configuration, the update completes without errors, and a list of selectable servers appears. If you only see an empty configuration name, don’t try to connect yet. Return to Account Overview and check your plan and subscription status.
Choose a Server and Verify Your Connection
Choose a server from the client’s list in a region supported by the service you want to use, then connect. On your first connection, allow the required network configuration access when prompted. Wait for the client to show that you’re connected before opening a browser. See the regions and server guide for help choosing a server. Distance from your location alone doesn’t determine whether a server will work for every service. Don’t run multiple proxy or VPN tools at the same time.
First, open a regular website you can usually access to confirm your device is online. Then open the international service you want to use. Whether the page fully loads, you can sign in, and the content works are more useful checks than a connection icon alone. Streaming also depends on your account benefits and content region; AI tools may have their own regional and account requirements. A working network connection doesn’t guarantee that a platform’s account requirements are met.
If regular websites won’t load either, disconnect the client and check that your local connection is working again. If browsing works when disconnected but not when connected, check that you selected the right configuration, the subscription updated successfully, and the client’s proxy or traffic-routing switch is enabled. If only the target service is affected, leave the other settings as they are. Switch to another server in a region supported by the service, then reload the page.
Change one setting at a time while troubleshooting, and note its previous value. Switching servers repeatedly while changing modes and permissions makes it harder to identify the cause. For services that require a login, try to use the same exit location consistently. Browser tabs may keep an old connection, so close and reopen the target page after switching servers. Once everything works, note the active configuration and server name for future use.
Once your connection is verified, follow the same routine for everyday use: open the client, check the subscription, choose a server, connect, and test the service. If errors persist, submit a support ticket with your operating system, client, server name, exact error message, and whether all websites are affected. Don’t send your password or full subscription link. For more on how streaming regions work, account regions, and common errors, read the complete streaming guide. This guide doesn’t cover those topics in detail.
